In your opinion, how involved in AI governance strategy should HR be? What should their seat at the AI governance table look like?

I have had our HR function involved at various levels when it comes to AI Governance. Initially, they assisted in the development of our AI policy, as well as the construction of learning content and compliance modules to assist in communicating our policy and the obligations/expectations of all employees. They also participate and support the process where the policy has been breached, including working with the employee and their manager to correct any breaches, as well as taking any disciplinary actions as necessary

At a high level, if HR is expected to enforce an AI policy related to the company's AI strategy, then I would include them. Similar to a general business strategy, that as an IT leader I'm expected to support. If I have a support role, then I would expect to be involved.
